New house purchase - we've Exchanged!

Huzzah, we've finally Exchanged for our new House purchase! Offer was accepted on the 12th March and we're expecting to complete on the 28th June so a little over 3 months.

The house is still up on RightMove - http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-37610386.html

I'm chuffed that we've finally got here, our chain consisted of 7 people so it's been a worrysome time all around! It needs a little bit of decorating and we plan to extend the kitchen once our finances have recovered a little bit (there are several other houses of the same design in that road, all have extended already).

The house is in the town that I grew up in, with excellent schools and area (the same can't be said for my current house!), a comparison of crime stats:

That was a long old wait after offer accepted!! Congratulations.

Despite the experiences of other people, I've always found that it takes 3 months+ to buy and sell a new house. Once the offer was first accepted, the Estate Agent was adamant that everything would get settled within 4-weeks!

These aren't just my own experiences either, my sister recently sold her house in a closed chain (she moved in with BF, buyers were BTL) and that took 4 months too, and they were cash buyers!

If nothing else, it gives us a few more months to sort out our expenses / budget.

If it makes you feel any better we had our offer accepted back in February and only moved in on the Monday just gone

Wow, can't believe how expensive proeprties are down 'sarf.

Tell me about it This is where my family and friends are settled though and my salary is enough so that I won't struggle with repayments and I don't go without. It does make me cry when I look at prices t'up North though!

Box packing is firmly under way this weekend stupid weather has stopped me getting out into the garden and shed though

We transferred the money to our solicitors today, only a couple of more days to go until Completion

On another positive note, BT Infinity became available at the house today too so appointment booked for an Engineer install on Monday
