Hi,
I have just bought a PS3 which i mainly bought for gaming and media streaming from my PC. I watch it through my Samsung 50" 1080p plasma.
I am however a little underwhelmed as im getting a little fed up of how slow the ps3 is , also the bluray playback isnt a patch on my sony bdp360 dedicated bluray.(colours look a little washed out).
I am thinking of selling the PS3 and putting the money to building myself a little htpc. My budget is £400 really and want to be able to do the following..
Run windows 7 and use WMC to record and pause live tv with a tv tuner card (freeview hd if there is such a card)
Stream pics, videos and such from my main pc in the computer room.
Play Bluray films and it be good quality.
Eventually play games such as FSX when i upgrade the graphics when i have more money (unless i can fit it into the budget now)
Would a decent HTPC be as good as a dedicated bluray for bluray playback?
Cheers
Matt
