So I had decided to build a HTPC and was generally waiting for the Asus E35m1-i deluxe m/board as the base for this when I remembered i have some old parts laying about the house.

So looking about I have an old intel E2140 with ram i can use, is it worth recycling this? Will I see much of a difference between this and a new zacate build? I know power consumption will probably be quite different, but am i going to see much of a performance difference between these?

If not, does anyone know of a decent socket 775 mini ITX board (if any) available that's suitable, won't need many connectors, 1 hdd, 1 odd.

Rest of the build should be more or less the same, blu ray drive, looking at a case similar to the thermaltake element q (cube style case) but haven't decided on this yet, and I have a small ssd to boot from.

Thanks,

the dual core will be fine, will probably be ok for dvd playback with a cheap mobo, but for blu ray add a passive GPU
do you plan to watch in HD ?
