I need something smaller in the living room to replace the setup I have in there at the moment which is old.

Antec Sonata Case
Corsair 620w
Q6600 (sorry forgot to put this in)
Gigabyte X38DQ6
4GB ocz pc6400
1 x 250GB 2.5 drive (old laptop drive just used for the OS)
1 x 2TB drive (storage)
Asus HD5450

I just want something smaller but having problems which way to go I don't want to go the nuc route because of the size of storage I need so mini itx is probably the best bet.

I got 2 systems in mind

AMD system

or Intel system

Is the Intel worth the extra £37 when all I want it for is to play movies without issues!!

Also I can't decide which case to purchase max £60 on the case the smaller the better.

I should have put a bit more in, it was just a generalisation just in case the op was looking at keeping the original Corsair PSU :p

I am looking to build something similar, did have a Celeron NUC which I sold earlier in the year.

I was looking at that gigabyte bay-trail though I've not seen many good reviews about it.

That milo case might be just a bit too big I was looking at something like the Antec isk 110. I know I might have a problem putting a 3.5hdd in there but I was thinking of attaching the drive with velcro to the inside somewhere because once the case is put in place it won't be moved.

Isk isn't in stock here otherwise I'd have stuck it in there, you could look at thin itx if space is a problem, but you will pay more for it.

Yeah I've left a message in the pre-sales section if there getting anymore in.

Do you think that gigabyte board would be good enough to play big mkv files m8 over a 47inch screen because the HD5450 I am using at the moment seems to struggle with some bigger files.

Damo told me as well m8 so I just rechecked his message and misread it myself and I think he misread what I asked too...lol

Hello!

Everything looks good to me.

The motherboard may possibly be back in stock in the next few weeks can't give you an exact date though.

He said motherboard when I asked about the case.

Just asked again to clarify.

I found a nice little case it's a XK3i Mini-ITX with a built in 120w psu and it's VESA mountable.

The Dimensions: 210mm x 72mm x 235mm (W x H x D) nearly perfect for what I want.

The only thing now is to decide which motherboard to go with.

The AMD setup wins over the intel but I've had a look at what chippy08 suggested with the Gigabyte GA-J1800-D2H I need more imput on this board is it any good or would I be better off with the AMD setup.

I didnt suggest the gigabyte my choice is the Asrock Am1

ahhh sorry chippy meant to put danewesley name there not yours.

Looked at that board m8 though it cost £20odd more than the Asus board is it really worth it when all I need it for is to play films on. Though it does come with the benefit of both DC-In & ATX power connector that is a bonus.

Raijintek Zelos Low Profile CPU Cooler wont fit the cpu dont think you need one anyway cpu fan is pretty low on noise.

What psu are you going to use ?

I thought that m8 looking at the fittings on it.

It's going to be overkill but I might as well use the Corsair 620w with it being modular keep it nice and tidy.
