Hi all

Following on from THIS thread, after a bit more testing, I think I'm certain that it's something about the motherboard that is knackered. As such, I am going to buy a new mobo, processor and RAM which is exclusively for HTPC duties.

I'm heading along the lines of THIS board, THIS processor and THIS RAM.

Does this look OK?

Many thanks

Michael.

Asus have a fusion board that has a heatsink instead of a fan over the CPU/GPU and when coupled with a seasonic x460 fanless psu and an SSD you have a low power ZERO noise set up!

I don't really need anything low power and the price of a fusion setup is about the same as the more powerful Athlon II X2.
