Hi Guys,

I've just bought a 'Verso Delphi' HTPC from OcUK. (GA-H55N-USB3) HDMI OUT

On some blu-rays im getting a jitter.. (The movie will pause slightly and the sound will become electronic like in high detail scenes.)

I think its because the HDMI cable cant handle both the audio and blu-ray.. Im trying to play it downstairs on my 42" TV through a straight HDMI connection for both audio and video but as I say the above is happening.

However, if i bring it back upstairs and plug it into my normal monitor using normal VGA lead. The movie plays with no jitter, But obv not in true high definition as VGA cant support true 1080p can it ?!

Which is what leads me to think that the problem lies with the HD cable not being able to handle both the audio and video? Its a good quality cable from richer sounds, cost £30.

Or perhaps its a signal issue? I think the refresh is set to 60hz in windows? Not sure..

Anyone had any experience with this issue?

Rob. :)

Right ive figured out what is causing it. Its the wireless card. I fitted an Asus PCI-E 300Mbps low profile wifi card into it. If i disable it in device manager the jitter stops..

Thing is its more than a jitter im getting from the wifi card.. Even when im on the desktop and I drag my mouse accross the screen you can see the cursor stopping and then catching back up.. Like the wifi card is shorting the board or something.. U can see the actual cursor stop and then catch back up in a continuous drag accross the screen ? Doesnt happen when i disable the wifi card.. Any ideas what would be causing it to do this? Is 350w enough power ??

And only seems to happen over HDMI.. Dont seem to get a problem over VGA..

Im not sure its the card as all seems fine when using VGA.. Just when using HDMI the wifi card seems to interfere.. ?! :(

Is 350w enough? Maybe cos its using more power when HDMI'd to a 42" TV instead of VGA ?

Well Im not sure if the problem has gone away but since disabling it in device manager and re-enabling the jitter seems to have stopped.

How do I check to see if they are sharing an IRQ? And change it if they are?

Rjkoneill,

I did order a wifi card to go with it but it came seperate and it didnt fit. Doh! So i ordered another one from somewhere else. Theres only one PCI-E low profile N wifi card on the market from Asus.
Im not sure what sort of speeds I should be getting to and from Win7 but.. Its a N router and the HTPC says its connected at 150Mb/s.. Transfering a file from upstairs to the HTPC downstairs i get about 4Mb/s..

I max out my download speed when downloading on the HTPC tho.. I get 5.98Mb/s download. Which is what i always get from Virgin. Just transfering files seems a bit slow.. 4Mb/s ?

Right, I've just tried downloading again and im getting about 3Mb/s download in newsleecher. I was getting my full 5.98Mb/s yesterday.. If I check the signal strength it seems to be dropping from 81Mbps to 54Mbps.. When it was connected at 150Mb/s ok yesterday..

I do have some floorstanding speakers close(ish) to the box and ive tried shuffling them around to see if it made a difference. Do you think the speakers next to it maybe a factor? Or not?

Think im just going to RMA the card?

Right, When im connected to the wireless network and its idle.. It says its connected at 135Mbps..

As soon as I start downloading it says its connected at 54Mbps..

Im maxing out at 3.8Mb/s in newsleecher..

This is starting to annoy me.. :(

v4 is on usenet..

Right. The jitter seems to have stopped but the glass television stand is interfering with the wifi aerials.

Can anyone recommend an extension cable that i can screw into the card and then stand the aerial on top of the TV stand, rather than on the bottom?

Its an Asus PCE-N13 card.. the one with 2 aerials coming out the back
