I'm looking to build an i5 system to go with my new Win7 installation in October, and I'd like any advice people can offer me to give me a decent boost on my current system, which is:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ | MSI K8N Neo4 | 2Gb Crucial Ballistix DDR | BFG GeForce 8800GTS OC | Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty | Seasonic S12 500W | Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320Gb | Western Digital WD2500AAKS-00B3A0 250Gb
I'm not looking to do any overclocking, and I'm thinking I might stick with the 8800GTS until the DX11 cards hit the streets (although I'd welcome any advice on that). Mainly I'll be gaming on modern games, but I also do a bit of everything from image editting to sound processing. I won't need any components past CPU, mobo and memory (and poss GFX), and I'm not looking to high the very high end as I'm looking for value for money.
Currently:
Core i5 750
Kingston 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333MHz HyperX Memory Kit CL7 1.5V
Any pointers?
