Hi All,

Im new to these forums, but have been reading some of these threads, and see the suggestion threads, and though cool i could do with some help.

I do a medium amount of Computer gaming and a fair bit of video encoding. and would like an I7 so that i can do that and use my PC at the same time.

Firstly before I start.. I want Windows 7
(Do I get the vista with the upgrade - or wait for 7... or buy without OS and use the Win 7 RC till i can get a real copy)

Secondly I havent ever Overclocked anything before - but i have built some systems (just been a while) So will be more likely to pay the extra and get OcUk to do the dirty work.

My LCD is only a Benq 19" which isnt great but will do untill i can afford it after my new pc.
- I have also used in the past my Panasonic Viera 42" Plasma (which i will use again for gaming / film nights, with sound through HDMI using ATI dongle and convertor cable)

So.... Budget is 1200 - 1500 (can scrape extra if really needed)
I havent listed Prices -- as yet, because if i wait till 7 is out they will have changed.

I would say stick with the windows 7 RC, it's miles better than vista IMHO, and next year july when it runs out, the price will have come down by quite a lot.

Ok cool,

What about Home premium vs Professional? (i like the idea of the XP simulation - but i dont know how much ill use it.)

Advice on Prem vs Pro

Other than that the hardware all look ok?
