Hi!
I have just inboxed my oem i7, and the pads on the underside where the socket pins contact the chip have a dot in the centre of each pad, is this normal?
I'm just curious, as I have never had an intel chip :P

Cheers guys!

It's the same as the little marks on new RAM..... they have to put in a socket to test it at the factory and that causes them.

yep... normal...

my brand new U2410 had a massive hand mark on the screen

what PistolPete said ...

... but then you find the calibration report ... makes you think the calibrator had oily hands ... calibrating my monitor while digging into chips!
