With the new iMac, we get either an ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT 128Mb or an ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO with 256MB. As I understand it, that's the top of the line 2400 card or the bottom end 2600 card.

Given that the Mac is not really used as a games platform (well I don't use mine for that anyway), is the 2400 good enough? I think the 2600 is about 30% faster on 3D.

Just wondering as the 2GHz £799 model is a bit of a bargain really, I've tried the older iMacs and they seemed plenty fast enough, although they were a bit quicker at 2.16GHz

Thanks folks. I might well go for the £799 model then, not too worried about the graphics as long as it's quick enough for desktop apps. My Mac Mini at the moment is fine for my needs, although it needs 2Gb of RAM adding to make Parallels run nice and quick.

Just need to wait for Leopard to be released now before buying, I am surprised they are not offering a free upgrade to the OS with the new machines, there must be quite a few people holding off buying to get the new OS :)
