Evening folks, need to get a new induction fairly quickly, got a friend coming round to help fit the new worktop and don't want the ceramic hob we currently have to go back in... Perfect justification for an induction :)

Looking to spend around £350.

AEG
Bosch

What I have noticed is that some have a power consumption of ~3KW and some are 5, 6 or even 7 KW, much like our ceramic but are still listed as induction... I thought induction was much less demanding? or do some induction hobs have a lot more balls without having the orange glowing rings?

Anyway, can someone help me make a decision please :)

Yes 6mm straight from a 32A MCB in the consumer unit 10' away :)

It might sound snobby and be kinda pointless but I would like a brand I have heard of... am I being daft? Also for £50 on top of the £329 Bosch I can have 5 years warranty making it cheaper than the Gorenje ;)

Is the extra £50 an insurance or a warranty?

Gorenje are a good brand, they make products for other people.

My parents recently purchased that very Bosch hob you've linked to and are very happy with it.

Shame you weren't looking on the run up to Christmas as Bosch ran a promotion giving you a set of induction pans away for free.

Can you link to that Neff? As I'm after a new 60cm induction hob since mine has gone wrong.

I did hear AEG are made in China now? Don't know if that's true.

Old coals recommendation is interesting, I've never heard of them but OC supposedly knows his stuff

Ahh right, that's the 13amp plug version, they do have a lower power output than the 32amp ones.

I thought it was a good price as the Neffs I've been looking at have been over £450

The lower rated inductions have a problem powering all the rings simultaneously I believe, at least that's what my mum said when she spent a grand on hers :)

All Induction hobs power share just depends how much, steer clear of the ones suitable for a plug top.

Aeg aren't made in china :) although Electrolux (parent company) did have some products made there.

Bloomberg is Bekos posh name and we haven't had many problems with the induction hobs, I would guess at seeing less than ten and the majority of those would be because customer didn't understand power sharing.

I feel your pain.

"It never used to do that"
