New install of windows 20mins... update 1hr+

How can a new install of Windows 10 take 20mins and and update takes over an hour?

And will I even notice a difference when its finished... of course not

Probably because you didn't install the latest version of Windows. Always grab it from MS just before the install.

Did you use the windows 10 creation tool to create the media on a USB stick to install from?

I have re installed W10 before for a neighbour and never had any huge updates taking this long to install

one of my recent updates, 20197 or something like that, took over an hour. No real reason why and it's not typical. normally it's pretty quick and my last update to 20201 was very quick.
