New install - Windows 10 licence??

I'm going to be helping a friend of mine do a fresh install of Windows 10 and I'm not sure how this will work when the Windows licence came as part of the bundle??

He bought his PC pre-built from OCUK and says he can't see a Windows licence key anywhere so I'm assuming it's somehow "bound" to the motherboard?

If this is the case, will the usual install process still be the same by booting from the latest W10 image on a USB key and it will bypass the part that asks you for a key or will I need to do something else?

Windows 10/11 should just reactivate with a "digital license" as soon as it is able to connect to the internet, as you are correct it is tied to the motherboard hardware id.
