There seems to be a quiet a few new Intel TV adverts advertising their "second generation CPU's" (so it says, although i thought second gen were sandybridge - which is not too new any longer).

Do you think this is a sign that something is about to happen? or are they trying to sell off a few sandybridge chips before their new chips arrive or brainwashing us into thinking we need a new CPU? Or is it simply for their Stock values and branding?? Or have these ads been on a long time and i have not seen them.

Just wondering as i keep seeing these ads.

Left over sales budget? I don't know, I think its them trying to get one over and taking the advantage of the BullDozer delay.
They could be getting rid of their stock for IvyBridge

I think intel have ramped up their ad campaign just recently since it took a while for the mobile sandy bridge CPUs and the lower end sandy bridge based desktop parts to get to market and they now have a wide product range to tempt the mass market to buy a new computer.
