new intel build help

Hey i just put a Q6600,asus P5KE,GEIL 6400c4 800mz..4gig.8800gt system together,running on xp pro for now,untill i get vista 64 bit in a week or so.

It all went together no problem but i noticed as i was browsing installed programmes in the add or remove panel that i have these drivers installed somehow..

windows driver package advanced micro devices AMDk8 processor

How did these get onto a new intel build on a brand new hardrive,i cant think how they got on there,and what are they being used by,if anything..strange

Anyone know how this could happen..

I had a look around and if you look here, they appear to be some drivers which are specifically for AMD cpu's. Odd though how they've installed when you've got an intel cpu. It probably came with the Windows installation and was put on regardless of what CPU you've got in it. It seems harmless if you have it on there without an AMD processor, but I guess you could get rid of it if you really wanted to
