A friend of mine is having issues with a few upgrades he has bought for his newish PC. As per title he is currently trying to install a new i5 and 650ti into a hp pavillon p6 2302eam desktop.

Firstly we need to find a bios update for the computer - which I've had no luck doing.

Secondly is the issue with the card, plugged it all in turn the pc on but yet there is no output on the monitor. The PC did have a 300w PSu but theres a 500w in it now.

Any ideas? :(

are the 6/8 pin power connectors attached to the card, the card wont work without those power pins attached and for the bios update i cant even find what motherboard the hp has let alone a bios update whats the cpu is it an ivybridge or sandybridge?

Graphics are working, booted it up in legacy mode. Just the processor now - New processor is a Ivy the old was a sandy

right thats the problem if i am correct this is the motherboard a foxconn H-Joshua-H61-uATX according to hps website they dont have a bios update for it but i will keep looking

Not sure there are any BIOS's that will support the Ivy CPU on the stock motherboard, I would stick the old sandy in and tell him to get a new board.
