I would like to buy some more ram for my PC but don't really want to get it if I have to thow it / sell it when I upgrade my pc in the not too distant future.

So would (decent) memory compatable with an intel dual/quad processor work in my Abit NV8 - (DDR2-400 rings a bell.... )

Currently I have 512mb and 4gb is 40quid ish plus looks like the new stuff runs a lot faster so that could speed things up a bit as well though I reaslise if the ram does work it's unlikely my mobo could get the full potential out of it..

Semprom at 2.3 ghz Nvidia 6800GT PCIe16 256mb sata 250mb 7200rpm

memory looks like - Two 184-pin DIMM sockets
- Supports DDR400/333 non-ECC un-buffered memory
- Supports maximum memory capacity up to 2GB

though i think my bios lists a lot more memory speeds than that - I may have to reboot to find out, but if the memory is fast and my motherboard can use it then that's OK i'm just trying to stop needing the hard disk for memory....
