New ipad issues?

Hi,

Just bought my wife the new ipad but i'm having trouble with it.

XP can't seem to find the ipad?

When loading itunes it appears but syncs are painfully slow, its a joke?

Re-installed itunes, restarted laptop, restarted services etc...

Any suggestions?

Well its a dell Inspiron 1011 (netbook)

Seems to be usb 2.0 no issues with ipods etc...

That's what I thought! It only finds it when iTunes is running? Stop iTunes and iPad disappears? Is it connected via wifi? And cloud thingy?

Can't work it out?

Tried all USB ports, the cable is the newer lightning type? So can't try other cables!

In device manager.

Under imaging devices - ipad has the yellow symbol on it (not installed/driver issue)

Under USB controllers
Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed!

So not showing in XP unless itunes it running and then only shows on the itune screen and not in my computer or anywhere on the operation system!

No recharging etc. No access!!

It's a netbook/xp issue as when I plug it into windows 7, its found straight away.
