New iPad

Normally I wouldn't upgrade one year to the next but my iPad Pro has really become a must have work tool this year - it looks like iOS is going to start revolving around a non-home button control style so I might update to a new Pro if its more like the X

There’s no chance the iPad will have a notch, there’s no need for one on that form factor.

Agree, I would be very surprised if they put a notch on the iPad Pro. The iPhone makes sense because of what technology they need to put in there, I suspect the iPad has more room for the technology elsewhere.

They could really do with bringing out a bezelless pro that's not far off the size of an iPad mini.

The mini was extremely popular even when it was underpowered and underspeced. the Mini 4 (the only really decent Mini they made) sold like hotcakes.

a 9,7" bezelless iPad would only be 20mm or so larger across the diagonal than a Mini.

There is zero need for a bezel less tablet. They are too big to be picked up without bezels... its taking form over function way too far.

I could be open for belief that there will be alghorytms that will detect when you are just holding it/ grabbing, however I had plenty of accidental screen touches on iPhone x, so I am sceptical for now.

Nah, the iPad mini is a great size. It fits in pockets! Coat pockets, cargo short pockets, dressing gown pockets! It was also proven by sales. It was the most popular iPad until they stopped it's development. I'm pretty sure the reason they've done that is because they know an edge to edge 9.7" iPad isn't much bigger. The only thing that lets the mini down (apart from it having a 2015 processor) is the screen size.

And I don't agree that you pick them up with the bezels. The natural thing is to pick a mini up by the sides, not the ends and there's hardly any bezels on the sides.
