Hey all,

Just a quick thread really... is there any news on a new iPhone arriving this year?

Any features announced? Any Pictures?

Any updates would be awesome :)

Thanks,
Marky

Nothing has been announced, Apple don't announce stuff until they announce it (if that makes sense).

Plenty of speculation, some people will even practically swear their info is correct but you're better off not believing any of it until it comes from Apple themselves.

As said nothing has been announced, and as June/July approaches there'll be a billion fake pix and so forth hyping the next iPhone revision up. Best bet is to remain patient until Apple themselves release it.

Damn thing better have a better camera.

Is June/July the approximate date of release?

Think its fair to say that it will have a better camera. They just can't afford to have bad press in that area as they have received with the current 2MP jobby.

I'm just wondering what we'll get on the hardware front. There's no doubt that the 3G could do with a faster processor, but what will we get on the video end of things I wonder.

The same way as they cannot stand the bad press for lack of flash (both kinds), lack of turn by turn GPS, no (native)MMS, no native video calling?

Apple does what Apple does regardless of what the "Internet People" say and still the stock rises and still the praise for their products rises.

I doubt Steve Jobs gives a toss, and Steve Jobs is Apple. So we get what he thinks we want.

Boom.

lol if they take that attitude with their 3rd iteration of the phone they will be slaughtered in the sales department. The 3G as it is, is already a laughing stock when it comes to omissions of key features.

Apple can could get away with their arrogance in the past because nothing could match their phone. That just isn't going to work in 2009.

I dunno, as a long time anti-iPhone guy (I rued the missing features) I have to say the UI more than makes up for it. I haven't come across an alternative yet that has made me think twice about changing, in spite of the missing features.

Apple will release whatever they think we want, that's their modus operandi and it's not going to change any time soon.

Frankly the iPhone will continue to sell in record numbers if they just changed the colour of the case with v3 - there are enough people out there that will buy them on the strength of the brand name alone.

I wrote a great response and Safari 4 just posted a blank page. What?

Anyway despite the flaws the iPhone is still the yardstick and whilst not the Jesus phone Apple hyped it to be it is not a laughingstock.
