Well, i am a hardcore windows mobile user (was). Had them since the 1st XDA and PDA's before that (Nino, 1st colour ipaq) etc.

Got the touch diamond on day of release, thought it was pretty cool, then realised the battery was crap, the tuchscreen was crap, the performance was crap and most of all it was just the same ol thing as before.

So, I got the chance of an iphone 3g on Friday, sold my diamond and took the plunge.

All I can say is, where you been all my PDA life baby

This thing is unbelievable, have not put it down since I got it. Love the app store, got about 10 apps so far. The slight performance issues im sure will be fixed but hey its still years ahead of windows mobile.

Anyway, dont know why im posting, just excited to finally have a mobile device for the 21st century.

Phonesaber, how cool is that (apart from my missus and 2 step daughters now hate the iphone, lol)!!

congrats on your purchase, couple of people I know dislike my iPhone but they like the games that I have on it strangeness :p

So its worth it then? I'm thinking about getting one this week... any tips? If it worth phoning O2 to see if I can get a free bluetooth headset?

Yup, when I first experienced the UI on the Touch I was blown away, and realised that Apple had it in the bag in terms of interfaces and ease of adaption for the end user. The iPhone just has it sorted over crummy WM. Although the Apple OS still requires a lot of ork to bring its features up to scratch.

When I first jailbroke my Touch and gained access to the heaps of high quality third party apps that existed out there, I realised even moreso that Apple have the phone market more or less in fear. You could make the best iPhone clone in the world, but it is nothing without the software, and thats where the SDK for both devices shine.

I used to have a MDA Vario 2 and the iPhone leaves it standing for UI. Ok, the iPhone can't do as much but there's no way I would go back.

It's just a shame firmware 2.0 is so buggy, after coming from the original iphone and 1.4 it's a bit of a let down. Still when they release 2.1 I'm sure it will be back to being smooooth.
