Hello, my sisters in singapore at the mo and shes found the new ipod nano 8gb for £130, and iv recently broke my rio carbon.. the pain and loss :( anyway, i was going to get a zen microphoto since they are in 8GB versions and the battery life was pretty good, but then these new nanos came out - 24hour batterys? yes please. One problem, the zen and carbon both were pretty much just a removable disk as far as the pc was concerned, then they played the music files you had on them. With an 8gb player im most likely going to use it to store odd things on and cart about, then plug into university machines or something, itd be handy if i could get my music straight off though, incase i was on an allnighter doing work at uni.. is there anything i can do to the nano to stop it being such a little bugger and just work like a hard-drive..and play the music thats on it while in disk mode or anything? Replies ASAP please, shes not there for much longer! Are there any alternatives, any new zens coming out or anything?

Sort off, you could just enable disk use and copy your music over as mp3, then plug into any pc and play. Though you would have to double up on your music though, wasting space. There are otherways around this, but they can't be discussed on this forum.

Remind you sister to get a tax free form when purchasing the nano, gets you another 4% back when you leave the country(GST refund). 130 quid seems like a particulary good price, even for singapore.
