Hi, just wondered if anyone in the know could advise.

I bought a new set of 2 piece RST Leathers last year from CMC in Chesterfield in April.

Noticed today, one of the elasticated cuffs has started to 'pull' away from the leather, like the stitching is coming undone.

Popped into CMC and they said if still under a year we can send it off and it will be repaired by RST free of charge. I said, not sure of date when I purchased them so would check when back home.

So checked when back home, turns out they are 14 months old now. Do I have to just lump it and pay (will take up to 2 weeks to send/repair and return) so that means I cannot ride during that time.

I only wear them when the weather is good as that is the only time I ride. Just really expected them to last longer than that even if it isn't a particularly huge problem.disapointed

Bet I have not worn them 30 times since I purchased them.

Just thought they should repair them free of charge even if 14 months old. Should last a lot longer than this with such a little amount of wear and when they have been worn, it has never been wet.

ill never buy rst again, bought some rst razer boots and they lasted roughly 4month if that, big hole wore through in the sole, cheap tat imo,and yes they should repair for free as they wore out too quickly

I've never wore RST, but I've seen many stories like this pop up. It makes me wonder, if the stitching is wearing away by simple wear, how on earth are they meant to stand up to sliding up the road at 60mph.
It would certainly put me off wearing them again to be honest dude.

These are the ones in question. (in red)

I have just shot a email of to RST and CMC, see what either party says.

Ghosteh hit the nail on the head with "if the stitching is wearing away by simple wear, how on earth are they meant to stand up to sliding up the road at 60mph."
And that jacket was one of my possibles that I'm looking at including Frank Thomas... think I'll give these a wide birth... they do look good though lol.

Do not get me wrong Pugheaven, everything is fine with the trousers and jacket apart from this small problem.

Apart from that, I have been very happy with them. Comfy, good airflow, nice and tight and look good. + I wear a Knox Back protector and the jacket fits fine with that on (although I did take out the small back protector that comes with the RST jacket).

Okay, fair enough, just sometimes you think blimey, like said before, if it's coming away, what would it do at 60mph... kinda just make you think, might give them a birth. Suppose though, nothing is 100% and you might just've got unlucky... might've been like that from factory slightly and just never noticed and it's got worse. Who knows, good luck though and let us know what they say... I would've thought they're repair free though...
