Am I missing something?

Updated iTunes on my MBA and PC expecting to see the new iTunes that they showed during the iPhone5 event and it all just looks the same as the old one?

They released 10.7 after the media event, but iTunes 11 isn't coming until October

Ah makes sense, I just assumed the update would be the new look.

10.7 was just to support the new range of products. The new iTunes will be well... the new new iTunes.

I've never had a problem with iTunes aesthetically... it's the code that's ugly.

I hope they haven't done away with list view + three pane explorer (Genre Artist Album) on top. Otherwise I won't be happy!

As long as it performs better than the current iTunes (which won't be hard) I'm not too bothered how it looks, although it does look pretty good.

Agreed. And as long as it isn't as CPU heavy as the current iTunes
