New Jap Turbo RWD Car Required!

No no, not for me :D A friend of mine is looking to get a jap turbo car. He's slightly older than me but skylines are still too much to insure. He's come from the world of bikes and having just sold his bike has a max of £4k to spend. He likes my mr2 but it needs to have 4 seats and a boot to keep his Mrs happy. It also has to be RWD, none of this 4wd nonsense ;)

So far I've pointed him towards a 200sx s13 and s14 which he both likes. And also a Soarer which he likes also, but he prefers manual and manuals of soarers are kind of hard to find I think. Any other suggestions peeps?
 
I recommend a Mitsubishi Carisma, I think it'll be just what he needs becuase the modding potential means he could mod it to suit his criteria.
 
ae86, not a turbo but still total cult car :)

other than that your about right with the sx, totally the best for the money, should be able to get a very nice s14, or a pretty decent s14a for that kinda money Although note they don't really have rear seats, just a place to store contortionists
 
200sx boot is ok, but if the missus insits on 4 seats, then it should be pointed out that trying to carry 4 adults further than 4 miles could result in permanent leg injuries for the rear passengers. 3 adults could perhaps make a 10 mile journey, though the rear passenger may need help getting out if they are still conscious.

Despite me loving them as you probably know, I havent recommended one for absolutely ages, so its not me :D
 
Am I missing something? The guy seems to have asked a perfectly valid question yet the thread has been killed. I was under the impression we were trying to stop this in the motors forum.
 
hmm not many genuine decent RWD turbo jap cars for 4k tbh...(with 4 seats)

MR2, 200sx, lexus soarer 2.5 Turbo

best u can prolly get, apart from a 200sx, which are rocking cars) is like a volvo T5, (2.5 Turbo, prolly 4wd), Celtica GT4, Lancer evo, Scubaru, pulsar GTIR, Supra etc

mr2 is a 2 seater..
