So I was made redundant 6 weeks ago, from a job I really enjoyed and think I would stayed there for life if the company hadn’t made lots of redundancies.

Anyway I been very lucky to find a job already and started this week. Back in an industry that I left 8 years ago, because I no longer enjoyed it. So iam 1 week into this new role, remembering why I left this industry and already fed up. I know I should not moan and that I very lucky to have found a job as quickly as I have considering some the levels of unemployment at the moment etc.

Anyone else done something similar and within a few weeks of starting a new job you knew you wouldn’t be there for long??

Yes, you are in a good position, if you apply for a new job you don't need to tell them.
I would start to apply for new jobs.

If it helps, I've had something similar recently, albeit slightly longer. I moved April time (previous role was c10 years) the role / ways of working hasn't been for me, I'm moving again and currently serving my notice (3 months notice here - doh)

For you, it sounds like it was a forced move and not something by choice. It isn't a problem to realise you don't like the work / industry - particularly if you worked doing that before. If you can, stick it out and find another job - being honest in interviews as to how you ended up there and why you want to move. I hope it works out for you.

I have been very honest in all the interviews i attended, my new employer thanked me for my honesty in the interview.

It certainly doesn’t help that from being made redundant and taking this job was big pay cut, what is probably a big contributing factor into not being happy. All I can do for now is suck it up and keep looking for something I want to do again.

I'd apply for new jobs, once you find the one you want, two options.

Say nothing

Or ust explain that you needed a job so took the first one in an industry you knew to give you time.to.find the role you really wanted at the company you were currently interviewing at
