Got a new job working as a video editor, which is great time to come because i've been homeless looking for work. And i need to do a good upgrade for my PC to make it a rendering god and keep downtime to other things a minimum.

This is what i had in mind, bare in mind i'll add more RAM as i get paid and such, but does anyone have any other suggestions?

(I already own all forms of Storage, PSU (760w Platinum) and SLi 970s, i'll swap them into this build)

Thoughts? Any thing you would do differently?

I would pick the same case but with red interior and the Gigabyte gaming board also red+black and some nicer ram such as Avexir/Corsair or Kingston predator but with higher rated speeds.

Well I did go for the black/red case myself after Stu told me too and its superb, I went with avexir ram and I love it. Might be a little too red for you though https://www.dropbox.com/s/hvtgqgd9zhxg3i9/WP_20150813_008.jpg?dl=0

Ooh i dunno about the colours, i mostly dont care too much for interior colours. LED's are cool, and the windows there mostly for easier diagnostic and looking inside to see if it needs cleaning and such.

What kind of RAM would you recommend instead? I've had trouble with kingston in the past its why i dont go with them as much, and i chose an MSI motherboard because again, i've had issues with Asus ones (But that might just be me) And the inbuilt streaming feature on this motherboard look godlike!

Space in the case, and i like a reliable motherboard. What good is having expensive components inside a cheap motherboard.

Completely agree mate, for replacement fans get some better corsair fans like these https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-016-CS if using 120mm or these https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-006-CS for 140mm. Just don't use the stock fans, they are noisy and cooling isn't great. The case fans that come with the Phanteks enthoo primo are actually really quiet and good quality. I went for a gigabyte board and got plenty of help when overclocking, there's plenty of advice on the forums for overclocking them, if you want to.

Is the water cooling i got pretty good or could i get better, especially cause i considering overclocking to atleast 4.0 if possible. Would make my world a heck of a lot easier ( only if that is reasonable, and especially only on 760w )

The cooler you have chose will easily overclock to at least 4.4 I would think. I managed to get 4.7ghz stable after weeks of testing on the corsair H100i and I have settled on that. a lot of people will say do a full water loop but if your like me and just want to use the AIO, you should have no worries hitting 4.4ghz. Have a fair few friends on steam who use the same CPU and all hit above 4.4ghz.

That's more than enough for me, dont wanna push my limits too far but dont want to settle on just 3.0!

I'll add a couple of those fans onto my order because i'd prefer the peace of mind!

Cheers for your help, i'll look into your motherboard you suggested aswell, i am always open to suggestions in changing, but i mostly went MSI because i have MSI based Graphics Cards and it just feels nice to put them all together :D

This motherboard is highly recommended https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-520-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=2875 But they are all pretty decent. If you go with gigabyte I will tell you what tips I have picked up whilst overclocking on X99 if you want some advice. I didn't have a clue when I started as Stu will be able to tell you haha

In most PC's i've had i've usually left Turbo on and had a good heatsink keep it stable, i just always turned off Power Saving features because of issues ingames. But yea if you have advice on OC'ing and once the parts arrive id love to chat, you use Steam atall?

Yeah I do I will trust you my steam ID mate. There's plenty of threads on here about overclocking with X99 too which can help, before my new build I had sandybridge so the difference with overclocking was unreal.

Not a bad plan in all fairness, i'll give it a look into, the cases seem pretty similar aswell. And i'm not going for a fancy Watercooling rig only doing WC on my CPU!
