Sold my old rig along with the logitech MX1000 keyboard and mouse combo I had.

Basically looking for something the same, don't do much gaming so that's not important. If I went for a separate mouse and keyboard would I have to use separate receivers? Quite fancy the logitech solar keyboard and another logitech mouse.

Cheers

I've recently bought the Logitech solar keyboard (K750) and also a Logitech M705 wireless mouse.
They both included a USB receiver but you only need to use one (the spare one fits into the base of the mouse hidden away under the battery cover - a nice touch).

The mouse is fine but I find the buttons a bit too easy to press accidentally (maybe it's just me).
This mouse has an extra button where your thumb rests but I don't really find it all that useful as the logitech 'setpoint' software seems a bit limited as to how you can assign the buttons.
It came with 2 Duracell batteries - not cheapo ones - nice one Logitech ! and amazingly the mouse will work work with only one battery installed (although I use both).

The keyboard is fantastic.
It's so thin (about a third of an inch) and it's like typing on a laptop keyboard.
This is fitted with a small rechargeable battery which charges whenever there's enough light.

No software was supplied with either product so you have to download it from the Logitech website.
Both mouse and keyboard have on/off switches and I believe the keyboard continues to charge even when switched off (if there's enough light).
I've only had them a couple of weeks so can't comment on battery life although they are supposed to last ages (according to the setpoint software my mouse has enough battery life for another 1087 days !)

I work at home and use my keyboard for work so I do a lot of typing and have worn the legands of some of the keycaps on two Logitech keyboards. Some Googling and forum reading suggested other people have this problem as well.

If your doing a lot of typing, then what about getting a high quality mechanical keyboard? a Filco Majestouch-2 with clicky or tactile keys would be one of the best, costs around £100 though, but will last a very long time :P

Thanks for the suggestions. Finally went for the K750 solar keyboard and MX Performance mouse, both Logitech. And I have the same prob with the mouse at the moment, pressing buttons that weren't there on my old one, but will get used to it
