I have had my rather old looking Logitech G15, and G7 mouse since they were first released. I am now in the market for another set.

I am thinking along the lines of the G19 keyboard and either the MX with darkfield, or the G700 mouse.

Has anyone brought any of these products and which one would be best for gaming and basic internet stuff, any other recommendations?

Cheers :)

Its always my worry going from a solid G15, which has everything I have ever wanted to something that has a poor build quality. If I could I would buy another G15.

It might sound sad, but having the visual display is a must for me and is a life saver with the clock on there. :D

I have huge hands and the MX mouse sounds like a no go for me. So maybe the G700, might be the better choice.

I use a mechanical keyboard at work, and I just don't rate them, especially for gaming purposes.

The switches we have at work on the keyboards are White Alps, which seems to be very common.

You would have thought, after the G15 as soo successful, the G19 would have been a step forwards, not a few steps back :(

I play anything from FPS, to RTS, driving, sports and anything that takes my fancy, so quite a broad spectrum of games.

Wireless is a must, and quite a high dpi as well.

I guess this is why I like the G7 soo much as you can change the batteries in seconds and you can change the dpi on the fly. It has a good buttong layout, although an extra one on the side where my thumb sits would be nice.

I am assuming that all the new mice all user lasers, and have built in gliding feet, so you don't need the extra cost of a pad/mat?

Weird, how you say that wired is better, I find that you have to keep wiggling the cable around do you can be in a better position.

I am liking the look of the Razer Mamba for my choice of mouse.

Still not convinced with the keyboard, might go for a cheaper option till something better comes out, which cater for my needs.

Right, I have sorted the keyboard out. I did purchase the G510 and I love it.

But I am still looking for a new mouse, I thought I found the perfect one, its was the Logitech Performance MX mouse, which felt great in my big hands and had everything I needed, except the dpi is only 1500? which is a major disappointment.

I am open to the idea of a wired mouse as long as there is plenty of length in the cord.

Cheers :)

I can vouch for the Microsoft Sidewinder X8, although its not the most comfortable mouse I've ever held.

It never lags or has tracking problems, uses bluetrack so works on any surface, I tried it on my leg and it was perfect.

I'm considering replacing it with a G700 just for the comfort, but probably won't bother until there's a problem with it.

What is the size like of the X8? Plus the scroll in the centre, does it click or just spin when using it?
