if any one can name another good board i can check out that will be cool . i was looking at the lycosa but the bad reviews out weigh the good
cheers guys

thanks i have looked at the black widow but keep changing my mind on it . i have never used a mechanical keyboard before so was wondering how much louder they are when typing . also is it worth spending a bit more and getting the ultimate ?

Depends what you're using it for. If you're going to be typing a lot then go for a mechanial keyboard like the black windows... but if you're gaming then you mightn't want to spend as much money, so the one you linked would be find.

There would be no point getting the ultimate for that money. Mechanical keyboards are defiantly more "fun" to type on, and you don't get many times where you accidentally press two keys at once if you have "big-boned" fingers ^^

I would defiantly go with a mechanical keyboard as you will find (like I have at the moment) that you will say to yourself "I wish I spend that little bit more"...

when you are spending £50+ on a keyboard, you really might as well consider spending a bit more and getting a mechanical.
If you are concerned about the sound, look for a mechanical with different switches. The black widows have the blue switches which are designed to make an audible click (a lot of people like it.) I went with cherry browns, which are very similar to the blues, but dont have the audible click.
Steel series do some mechanical keyboards - i think that ocuk stock the 6g for £75. They have black switches which are linear (and non clicky). I have not tried one, but the black switches are not everyones cup of tea. You might want to try one out before you buy, or plan on relying on the distance selling regs if you dont like it. Personally I imagine it would be a better keyobard than the black widow - it features full n-key rollover for starters.

thanks for the replys guys ... i think from what every one has said i am deffo goin2 get a mechanical one . i do do a lot of typing as i have moved town and i talk 2 my mates on the book . as for gaming i dont really use a pc for that i have been playing ps and xbox for years but want to start playin pc games now as i feel i will get more out of it . the sound of the keys wont really bother me just dont want my gf saying that im typing 2 loud lol . i am new to all this side of pcs really so not 2 sure about n-key and what it does i have looked on google for what i can make out its about hitting the wrong keys . if thats the case i dont really have a problem with doin that (most of the time ) and am able to touch type with out lookin at the keyboard
sorry for sounding like a right noob but i would really like 2 get somethin that would last and get into gaming on the pc
cheers

Good choice then, mechanical keyboards generally last longer.

Avoid the Black Widow if it's for gaming. Also avoid "gaming" branded snake oil. Just get yourself something with NKRO. 6 over USB and full over PS/2.

If you want silent mechanical switches that are linear, get black. If you want tactile, get brown. If you want the TAKATAKATAKATAKATAKA get blue.

ok thanks guys i guess i will have a look around and see whats out there .. cleecooo thanks but i already have a mouse and the keyboard aint my cup of tea . dont like the GamePanel on top
