Aright guys,
After god knows how many years my Logitech s520 is starting to give up on me. Soo.... with the holidays coming and me being a really difficult person to buy presents for i thought i'd give the other half a real good clue as to what i want dropped down from the chimney. But... i'm not really sure what to choose so I was hoping you can come up with some ideas.
I have to say that for probably about 10 years i have been using low profile (laptop -like) keyboards so something with keys sticking as high as the London eye is probably not going to do it for me, even if the keyboard rocks in other aspects. As i'm using a desktop now i don't really care if the keyboard is wired or wireless (a combination would be nice). I like the idea of having illuminated keys so this will be a bonus but defo not a must.
Thanks for you suggestions.

Oh yes, i play games and do reasonable amount of typing but what i would really appreciate is a keyboard i could assign hotkeys to as i play a bit of online poker.

Thanks for your suggestions

:D Not exactly an abundance of suggestions.... So i think i want to get the Logitech G19.... but It seems like there are two versions - one with a palm rest and one without. Can someone who has the keyboard confirm this, or is it one style keyboard and you get an attachment in the box? If there are two versions i think i want the one with palm rest since my present keyboard has one and im sort of used to it. Any reason not to go for that one vs. the one that has no palm rest?
Thanks

If you like low profile keys, I'd recomend the Enermax Aurora,

I have a couple of them, they're a nice slab of laser cut aluminium with laptop style low profile keys.

Bargain at about £50.

Thanks Ryan, I must have missed this review. Good to have the option to attach palm rest. Just have to make sure the buttons are not too high for me.

flippant, the Aurora looks good too and i really like the low profile keys - look just like the ones on my s520. How noisy is that keyboard?
cheers

Not noisy at all.

If you like a wrist rest have a look at the Keysonic Xl

It has same low profile keys, is also aluminum and has a big wrist space.

I had one but the built in sound card played havok with my KVM, down to the KVM not the keyboard, but it had to go.

i currently had very bad experience with razer and their rma so i'm a bit unsure about buying another razer product at this time. Also, they are raising prices as if they were not high enough

Steel series 7G/shift(depending on preference)
or if you want something slightly cheaper, try out the merc or the zboard
Can't go wrong with any of these, amazing products.

Hmm, the keysonic looks good. A bit simple (nothing wrong with that) but toes it have key illumination? Didn't see it in the description. Do like the fact that is silent tho

Anyone has any thoughts on the corsair K90? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-002-CS&groupid=702&catid=23&subcat=
The 3 rows of 3 mappable keys are perfect for me as i can map my fold, call, bet buttons. I think i can force myself to get used to the high keys.

Anyone from OCUK: When will this be available? Will i be able to get it before xmass?
Thanks

Also, would i be able to order a US layout rather than the UK one? I'm just used to it.
