Well, around the block anyway. Gameface Labs mobile AND pc all in one headset with 140° fov and higher resolution than Rift and Vive. ETA 2nd quarter 2016.

Basically, same res as the Gear VR, but because it can connect to PC it should be better res than the other PC headsets. Will use Steam Platform. To be competitively priced in line with PS4VR.

No. Its using exactly the same setup as the gear VR which means A LOT of pixels go to waste.
Despite being "lower res" panels, the fact that there are two of them means you get better seperation, and the optics in the rift make much better (squarer) utilisatiom of the pixels, so the effective resolution is higher on the rift than it is on the gear VR

The only headset kicking about thats higher resolution than the rift/vive is that StarVR thing with two 2560 panels in it, but that doesnt even have a 2016 release date planned
