Having just sold my old three shuttles (if you remember I transfered the servers running on them onto VMware) I've just bought the following to upgrade my FX51 rig:

Goods Shipped:
£58.16 x 1 - **B Grade** Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
£21.99 x 1 - Asus ATI Radeon X1050/TD 128MB HyperMemory TV-Out/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail
£21.99 x 1 - OcUK 1GB (2x512MB) PC2-6400C5 800MHz DDR2 Dual Channel Kit
£24.99 x 1 - Thermaltake BigTyp 120 VX CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/LGA755)
£39.99 x 1 - OcUK Huntkey 550W PSU
£89.99 x 1 - Intel Core 2 Duo E6320 "LGA775 Conroe" 1.86GHz (1066FSB) - Retail

So once I have done the deed I'll put the FX51, memory and motherboard etc on the Members market and maybe upgrade another box with what I get from that!

Should boost my scores a bit :)

Oooh nice upgrade.

What socket is the FX? Also, what make/model is the rest of the stuff?

I have a friend who may be interested in upgrading which = possible cheap parts for me :D

Hmm.. :D

FX51 940 pin
Asus SK8N Nforce3
1GB matched ECC (not sure of the brand, think its Corsair)

I'll let you know when I put it in MM

Of course because its B-Grade the motherboard doesn't come with manuals, drivers, a blanking plate, cables or any******thin..

I can get by without cables and manuals but (longshot) anyone got a blanking plate for a GA_965P_DS3?

Zerker.. just a friendly inquiry I'll put a wanted poster in MM later tonight.

So downloading the manual, hope the darn thing boots up first time :)

the giant atomic lizard gave me a bios fried one the other day.
Got it to power up but couldn't complete POST so it's really dead :(

On the flip side I've a IO shield and manual with your name on it - e-mail me with your address and I'll post them to you at the weekend.

You're welcome guys.

Shame the board wouldn't go, but at least some of the bits will be doing something useful :D

I'm not finding the DS3 the most stable setup in my house.. hope that its not a borked one :( hopefully its me and I just have to get used to using it.

It came with the F12 bios, but its a rev1 board.

Anyway, latest news is that its flippin brill :D and the 6320 is amazing value for money. Just doing some stability testing. Also the Thermaltake BigTyp 120 VX is pretty awesome. Just fyi this is in a ancient Coolermaster ATC-201 and the Thermaltake has about 5mm clearance from the side of the case. But anyway.. check this out.

Heh, every 8 hours I waste testing it orthos stable 8 hours less points for the team! :D But I am tempted to see what the limit is, although I'm now on the last multi for the memory so I'm pushing the generic OcUK 6400 and I think thats going to prove to be my limitation now.

I suck at overclocking I can't get past 2.4Ghz on my e6300. Its only a side project though, I'm sure I'll squeeze more out of it in good time. (read: when I can be asred)

Those are great temps btw too, I'm at 55 degs already with an ACF7.
