New kit warranty

I've just had my annual bonus and I have decided (AKA been given permission ) to upgrade my current camera/lenses.

From:
Canon 300D
Kit lens
Sigma 70-300 APO

To:
Canon 40D
Sigma 10-20
Canon 70-200L USM F4 IS - Woo Hoo !
Plus the Canon 50mm f1.8 that I have already got

Questions:

I need to be able to get VAT receipts for all this and I don't want to end up with a £700 lens that won't get serviced/fixed with some dodgy HK warranty that Canon UK won't honour.

So what is the standard UK canon warranty on lenses and cameras ?

Same question for the sigma 10-20 lens ?

Any help would be great....

HI Mate, the Canon warranty is a year, sigma, 3 years on the EX series.
I'd buy a UK camera+ buy UK for sigma lenses.

My 40D is with Canon after just 9 weeks, as the wheel by the shutter release stopped working , left me with No way to change shutter speed or the Aperture.
