So Ive tried playing some x265 files on my current Acer Revo RL70, no joy, it just stutters. Is there any boxes currently that can play x265 4K files please? Ideally that supports OpenELEC.

I decided to go with the new Nvidia shield. It's not cheap but it's going to last me a long while, plus it has great support with all the other apps you could want and opens up the whole emulator gaming side of things.

Thanks me :D

Most S905X chipset Android boxes for HEVC, the difficulty is finding one with a genuine Gigabit Ethernet socket if you want to stream 4K off of network; avoid S912 as it's a con and unsupported by the opensource dev community due to lack transparent info from Amlogic. Also dump OpenELEC and move to LibreELEC, OpenELEC is dying fast after the fallout that forced most of the dev team to leave and setup LibreELEC. LibreELEC is active vibrant and under constant development.

Very interesting. Which build would I need for my Acer Revo RL70?
