Hi guys,

Recently had to sell my rig due to work commitments and never actually using the damn thing other than as a dust gatherer!

I am now in need of a laptop and haven't actually ever owned one so in need of some advice.

I'll be using the laptop for web browsing and business, so will be getting Microsoft office in due course. The laptop will also be used for streaming and videos; therefore a good screen would be essential but would still like a stylish laptop and not some ancient looking brick.

I am not bothered whether it has a CD drive or not as can go fully digital for everything I'll need. Long term investment here and I reckon I'll budget around £500 for it.

Anyone have any first hand experience, or suggest the best I could get for this budget?

I have also looked into a lenovo thinkpad 2 opposed to a laptop; but again, would be open to some advice and suggestions.

Many thanks.

Probably should note I would prefer a new CPU for the new architecture and at least 4GB of ram as I reckon I'll end up playing some crappy type of games to pass the time on trains, so something with good battery life would also be worthwhile.
