New laptop, 40gb ram?

Hello all,

Recently replaced my Lenovo with a P53 and it feels great but noticed it has 40gb ram? I've not looked at the sticks but guessing it must be 16 + 16 + 8 .
I've been out of the loop for so long but know back in the day this was not a good idea as dual channel not possible? I'm tempted to (after I double check the layout) to get another 16 + 16 and dispose of the 8, would this be a worthwhile upgrade do you think?

Thanks - that's an app name i've not heard in a long time :) I didn't know it still exists , have just installed and it is:

Graphics is a Nvidia T2000 with 4GB but still looking into app settings to find out if this is shared .

As above either look at CPU-z or physically check.

I believe the P53 has 4 SODIMM slots, so could be lots of different combinations e.g
8+8+8+16, 32+8, 16+16+4+4 etc...

I've been out of the loop for so long but know back in the day this was not a good idea as dual channel not possible?
It matters less these days as chips will fall back to flex mode / asymmetric dual channel, using dual channel access where possible
