Hi

I've never purchased a laptop before so I'll be honest, I don't have much of a clue what to look out for. Budget is £800

My needs will be mostly browsing / gaming / editing (not much) and listening to music whilst doing these things. A laptop that can handle multitasking without slowdowns and lock ups. I've been looking at the following DELL model and would appreciated any feedback or any alternatives:

XPS 15

Processor - 2nd generation Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM processor 2.00 GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0 up to 2.90 GHz
Operating System - Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit, English
LCD - 15.6 HD WLED TL (1366x768) 720p with 2.0 mega pixel integrated camera
Memory - 6144MB 1333MHz dual channel DDR3 SDRAM [1x4096 + 1x2048]
Optical drive - 8x DVD+/-RW optical drive
Hard drive - 640GB (7,200rpm) serial ATA hard drive
Primary Battery - 9-cell 90Whr lithium ion battery
Graphics card - 2GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 540M graphics card
Wireless Connectivity - Intel® Centrino® wireless-N 1000 (EUR)

£779

I know I've gone for the lower res screen but I'm thinking if it is worth the upgrade (£170)?

Cheers peeps.

i've posted this elsewhere but if you can stretch to £899 you can get this from Jamie Oliver's favourite supermarket:-

Medion x6811 (built by MSI)
i7 740qm
6gb DDR3
gtx 460m 1.5gb
2 x 500GB Hitachi 7200rpm HDD
1920x1080 HD LED Display
USB 3
Bluetooth
etc. etc.

goes up to £999 shortly. absolute beast of a machine that, spec wise, would cost about £1600 if it was an alienware.
