New laptop advice

Hey,

My 4 year old xps m1530 finally packed in so need a new laptop.

Budget: ~700eur (£600)

Intended use: College, the occasional game (thinking i5)

Mobility: 14 or 15inch, coming from the m1530 so would prefer something not so chunky (was looking at samsung 700z but not worth it)

I've been using a 1440x900 resolution for more or less 4 years so would like to keep a decent resolution, and if possible a backlit keyboard.

Worth messing around on Dell's site to try and configure the right mix, not backlit though. If you were to accept 1366X768 screen then you'd have much more scope on price. I've tried to keep a higher rez screen and the cheaper option I came up with was actually i7. Probably more combinations if more time is spent on it. Also the Dell outlet would probably get the right combo at the right price. How does this example look:-

The above Dell was on a 10% coupon, let me know if you can't find it. Been searching for options for another post and found these at your desired resolution too. They are ex VAT prices; you need to pay full price and claim the VAT back from Samsung, offer ends 1st May
