New Laptop (couldn't wait for a new GPU on Desktop!)

Hi, so as per I am running a desktop with a 980ti and i7 8700k, which i was using for VR mainly. It struggled... So I bought a new laptop since GPU's are now Hens teeth.

Lenovo Legion
Ryzen 5800h (first Ryzen cpu)
3070
16gb etc.

So question is around overclocking. Never owned a gaming laptop so:
  • Is heat/temp management the same as the desktop
  • Never owned a Ryzen, luckily had the AI Asus overclock so didn't have to worry about the CPU before
  • 3070 mobile, worth overclocking? Used to MSI Afterburner
  • I have minimal overclocking experience other than the usual youtube demo's etc.
Any thoughts or help greatly appreciated. Just fired up Project Cars 2 on the Quest 2, it's ok, not leaps and bounds yet over the desktop experience.

Thank you in advance.

I had a dell i7 and 1080 I believe, I pretty much had to undervolt it and keep everything running as cool as possible as it throttled back whenever it got to warm.

I'd have some stats running while you are playing games and see if you are staying at boost clocks as something like a laptop stand with fans in it might give you better performance.
