Hello everyone, as the title says, she's 7yrs old and it will be basically, for school work and internet, possibly to watch movies in SD also, your help appreciated.

A cheap Dell Inspiron 1525 would probably fit the bill pretty well. I think they're allowing a free choice of colour on them too at the moment, which would probably appeal to her!

Cheers for your response, I'm looking between £300-£350, so yes the Dell does look nice, but still open to your opinions :D

hmm 7 years old, i wouldnt want to give a £300-350 decent laptop to her... i expect to see a thread of "my daughter ruined her laptop" later within a year or two.. i could be wrong and your daughter isn't likely at all to ruin it but 7 years old with a laptop... i cant help but think there may be accidents, so i'd go with something cheaper, single core celeron for example. or even a netbook would be good.

I'd definitely go with a netbook tbh.
I don't think a 7-year old would take advantage of a full-sized laptop, so I'd take a look at the EEE, or something similar.
