hi

my dell xps m1210 on windows xp is starting to get problems after problems first it was always jamming now im getting memory errors and blue screens of death which i think is either overheating or my video card is fryed because display is completly dead now:(.

its about 5 years old and im thinking about a new laptop but im thinking perhaps trying a macbook pro ?

i only use my laptop for a little football manager and surfing the net , viewing pictures so would a macbook be ok for this?

i also have a ipod and use itunes.

would a macbook be better ?

thanks

Is football manager Mac compatable? I dont know if it is or not.

Personally if that's all you use your laptop for I wouldnt bother spending the massive amounts of money on a macbook for something which sounds like it will get light use.

iTunes on PC and Mac are nearly identical.

Is there a specific reason you are considering a macboo? Dont get me wrong they are good machines, it's just the price (I personally find) is often hard to justify.

not really , just the fact im having nothing but problems with my dell, i do like the design of the macbooks though

ive also read that you dont need security on a macbook unless you use windows programs?

I wouldnt believe that, it is true there is less chances of getting attacked or compromised when using a Mac but the threat does still exsist.

It's worth thinking about compatability of programs if there is something you like to use or have purchased for Windows it may not work on Mac.

Personally if I was looking at spending that much money Id look at getting a decent Sony laptop.
