Hello,

I would suggest you remove the Amazon links as OCUK sell laptops its against the rules to post competitor links. (copy and paste the specs and model number of each)

Does it have to be a laptop or can you build a desktop instead? Do you have a budget in mind?

oh gosh sorry i didn't know. I'll do that now. Defintely need a laptop as opposed to a desktop. Ideally under around or under £700

Hard to deduce exact models for these. Could be first laptop has Intel Core 7 150U and second Ryzen 7 8840U
In which case Ryzen does come with faster integrated graphics. I suspect both would run Sims 4, but would still pick Ryzen for better fps.

I have a Ryzen 7 laptop 5825U, I game at 1920x1200 War Thunder medium settings I get 45fps. So it's playable. But I wish it was a bit faster, so use higher graphic settings and get constant 60fps. Terminator Salvation was playable but that is slow fps shooter anyway.

It's lower power/heat which was the appeal, a dedicated GPU will use far more power and be hotter

Doom Eternal isn't really playable.

I'm happy with the ryzen for the integrated graphics performance, but it's not quite a budget GPU I'd probably step up to dedicated one ie lenevo gaming with geforce dedicated.

Thank you. As i said I'm at a complete loss when it comes to computer specs so this is all really helpful. Does anyone know in general which is better, Intel or Ryzen or if that just a personal preference thing?

Thank you for this. I have also just seen this laptop from HP. looks quite similar, do you think this would be OK

It'll be similar, with ok gaming, just don't expect 60fps on high for fps etc.

also 1080p 17" might be a bit pixelly for windows, need to look. Also that's a cheaper IPS 45% that's a cheap and nasty one, some are 99% etc.

I think 16:10 16" is decent ratio, I prefer that over 16:9 on a smaller screen (as you lose a bit of vertical height on 16:9)
