I'm in the market for a new laptop, about a £500 budget.
It's mainly going to be used for sorting out my films, photos, music and using office applications. I'll also be using it for streaming films for when the wife's hogging the tv.
At first I was trying to get the best bang for my buck and was looking at an i5, 8gb ram and a 15.6 inch screen.
However I popped into a well known pc shop last night and was completely underwhemed by what they had to offer. Yes I can get what I'm after for my budget but laptops at this price point are so uninspiring. The look and feel of these laptops felt so dated!
So with that in mind I started looking at some others and specifically thought the dell inspirion 13 5000 seemed like a good deal at £500. However the screen quality could be better and the 4gb and i3 are a lot lower specs than I originally wanted, but the device felt more premium than the other options at this price point.
So my question is, would I be foolish to sacrifice system specs for a nicer device to use, taking into account what I'd be using it for? I'm not sure I would.
Also are there any better devices than the Dell at this price point in terms of both aesthetics and specs?
Cheers
