New laptop keeps hanging randomly.

We picked up a new laptop for some college work. Originally looked at an HP envy 13 but Mrs wanted a bigger screen and touchscreen.

Took home a HP Pavilion 14-dv0521sa 14" i5 tiger lake 1135G7 ,8 GB ram and 512 GB SSD.

All was well until I was installing chrome, steam etc and I'm getting random crashes. Screen just stays as it was with no input possible and fans running slightly louder.

Windows did update and some bios update happened automatically but I'm not sure if this was happening before.

I ran HW monitor and cinebench and it locked up before it exceeded 69c.

I don't think it's hardware but windows is up to date and any drivers seem to be too.

Any help would be appreciated.

Factory reset with windows and it froze up whilst installing steam last night.

Tried to factory reset again this morning and came back to a BSOD with some artifacting. Stuck in a boot/can't install windows loop so they just exchanged for a new laptop.

Possibly SSD faulty one guy said , I'd ran a memory check and that seemed fine.
