Hello

Today i bought a toshiba Satellite P300H-20H which i must admit is an ashtonishing laptop, very sleak, but i bought this to do work and play games, i understood this wasn't the most powerful laptop but i expected to be able to play games on the lowest settings/resolution but it won't even push past 5-10 fps max when playing very low spec games, This must be down to the graphics card i'm assuming, the one in this is a Mobile Intel® GMA 4500M and when i was sold this laptop i was told it would handle atleast old/low spec games.

My question is can i insert a graphics card into this laptop in any possible way to play games, even if it is in low spec or have i been completely lied to and ripped off?
(going away soon and this is why i wanted the laptop)

The specs of this laptop are:

type : Intel® Pentium® dual-core processor T3400
clock speed : 2.16 GHz

2Gig Memory

Vista 32

and the graphics card above^

Any help would be appreciated

Short answer - no.

99% of laptops do not have upgradeable graphics.

Take it back, swap it for something without integrated graphics.

Well the problem being is that it's non-refundable, i bought it on their word it would do what i would have liked. It's contracted and i had to put up a hefty deposit in order to get this. So basically my only other option is to sell up and try get another?

i tried need for speed pro street on the lowest settings and resolution n i got back about 10 fps tops. ( i know that one isn't too old) i also tried gunZ (wow on the lowest settings) and i couldn't get anymore than about 10-12 fps out of any of them

Edit: Even tried the cheap Trials bike game and that was awful performance wise, Guess i'll try take it back.

It hinges on their definition of "old/low spec", if there was a reasonable assumption that you wanted to play anything other than 10 year old games then the laptop was missold and is not fit for purpose under the Sales of Goods Act (if you purchased in the United Kingdom).

You will need something with a discrete graphics card such as an nVidia 8400M or 9400M.

Indeed there Phil. I did explain to the guy it will be for use of playing games of the last 3-4 years (which i consider old'ish) and (obvious its a sales pitch they've always got one what ever the product) the guy said he had one and plays a lot of todays games which lead me to believe it must have some sort of relativly ok card.
