I'm in the market for a new laptop for uni. I have a budget of about £500, but I would stretch a little higher (definitely not higher than 700) . Requirements are mainly web, office, video music, skype and light gaming (e.g. minecraft). I'm hoping for something with good build quality as its likely to travel around a lot.

Q1 - Should I be looking for a low end graphics card (e.g. 630m) or would integrated be sufficient.

Q2 - I'm interested in getting a dell xps 14 or 15 from the dell outlet. Some reviewers moan about wifi issues and battery on both, does anyone have any experience on these?

Q3 - The Lenovo U410 seems to fit my bill too, which is a bit cheaper, but reviewers moan about the screen, again any experience?

Q4 - any other ideas?

any laptop battery is zapped up fast when viewing video, and being a dell owner can confirm theyre not that great on battery.but that being said you get a hell of a lot for your money with dell! keep an eye on that outlet cos i grabbed an amazing bargain from there which saved me a min of £350,you just need to check a lot each day till u get what ur after. i would suggest a 15r inspiron, check em out,gd luck
