New Laptop Screen or inverter?

I have a laptop of which the screen is very dim, when booting up I can see the boot logos etc. but it's all very faint - is this a new screen replacement job or is it the inverter?

it's an Asus Vivobook E402YA-GA002TS

Best thing it to take it to a repair shop you trust and let them make the decision and go from thr

Inverters aren't really a thing now afaik, the screen has the LED light source built in. Might be worth taking the old screen out and checking the part number. There's only so many different panels in use, probably <£40 on the bay

Very unlikely that a laptop so new will have an inverter inside. Bound to be a replacement screen out in the Bay
