Hi guys,

my trusty iconia tab w700 died this week so looking for a replacement of some kind.

my son loves the touch screen stuff so probably will need to keep with a touch screen but not sure if im bothered about a tablet form factor this time. a laptop would do i think.

so, looking for a touch screen laptop with some semi decent GPU in it. doesnt have to be super powerful as my main gaming PC will be the thing i game on most still, but would like a fair bit more grunt than the old i3 mobile had with its intel gfx.

i hear the new i5 and i7s have decent built in gfx (or is that just the desktop cpus?), or am i best just going for a mobile nvidia or something?

im well out of the loop at present. so looking for some advice from the gurus! cheers...

the wifes got one of the lenovo flex 2 laptops with touchscreen that has been pretty decent.

they have brought out a flex 3 which looks to have decent specs but it all depends on how much your looking to spend

cheers mate, Lenovo do seem to have the most options with touch and NVidia gfx

do you know if it handles games at all? not looking for hardcore gaming, just dabbling when other machine is in use.

what sort of games are you looking to play?

its never going to be a gaming laptop but basic games it should cope with fine.
My lads used it for minecraft and stuff without a problem.
Im sure the flex3 would be better spec.

not sure really :)

I guess i'd be happy with stuff like gta v in low to medium. I smoke in the conservatory and like to game when I smoke :)

I'm not expecting hardcore gaming but might be nice to dabble.

so far the Lenovo y70 17" seems to be the best option. just depends if I can sweet talk the mrs :)

very odd that many of the better gpu machines don't have touch. unless you start looking at well over a grand.

Gaming laptop = external gaming mouse = no need for touch screen.

And tolerable fps/gfx = over a grand anyway.

Good luck finding what you need. Let us know what you get and how it performs.

yeah, but my son loves the touch stuff and its a handy little addition if I can get it.

the machines I'm looking at are i7 with 960m which should suffice for light gaming

quite fancy getting into some video editing too with a 17" screen

just got to sell this idea to the wife :)

i would look at the lenovo flex 2 i have the intel pentium 3558u version and it runs flawless but you are able to get the i5 version as well which is good as well it plays need for speed most wanted on low settings with no problems.

the touch screen is fantastic and very responsive if you you have an xbox one streaming to it is great as well.

it comes with 6gb memory as standard but it is very easy to upgrade it to 8gb

overall the flex 2 is a solid performer there is a flex 3 but cant seem to find much about it so i dont think it has been released yet
