Hello OCUK,

Just bought an Aspire One D257 for my partner, but having serious issues connecting to the internet. In the house, we have 2 computer and 3 laptops already, all of which connect fine.

The D257 comes with an Intel Centrino Wireless-N 100 Adaptor. After failing all simple attempts to get it working, I began by copying the Network information from another computer via USB. I then checked that it is being assigned an IP value, both from IPCONFIG and the router settings.

While it can connect to the Wi-Fi itself, there is sometimes 'Internet Access' and 'No Internet Access'. Unfortunately, 'Internet Access' appears to be a slight lie...this just means it attempts to load Google for about 5 minutes, rarely loading half the page, and then times out.

I can connect to the Router Options from this Laptop. Could anyone please help? And yes I have tried resetting the router...

Thanks in advance.

Updated the Drivers, with not much effect.

I did notice that in the adaptor settings, the wireless mode is on b/g, and there is no n. Is this not a little unusual for a Wireless-N adaptor?

Can anyone please suggest anything?

So you can see the network but not get internet access?

You're probably getting the wrong gateway address from DHCP, tried setting it manually?
